Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225g) butter
  • 2 1/4 cups (400g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup (60g) unsweetened cocoa powder (I like to use dark coco powder)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (180g) chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a handful to sprinkle on top.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake, as you want the brownies to be fudgy.
  8. Remove the pan from the oven and let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  9. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve. You can dust them with powdered sugar or drizzle melted chocolate on top for an extra touch.
